Florence woven gored skirt with buttons/zipper (PDF)

This is a beautiful skirt. It’s very easy to mix the pieces up and sew in the wrong order. I suggest sewing the first half of all French seams to be sure you ve got it right. Then sew the second half. You’ll have an easier time fixing any mistakes that way.

I still haven't been able to figure out how to select the height option. I'm regular height and need a us18. The instructions printed landscape and it won't let me use the layer feature to print the pattern. Help me if you can.

I am so enjoying this skirt, it is what I have been looking for, for a while. I love the fit around the waist and hips and then the fullness of the gores give a just the right of swish. I made it in a black midweight fabric, and will definitely be making more.

Easy to sew and a timeless classic. I’ve been wearing it a lot and very seldom wear skirts. I made a wearable muslin to get the fit right. Thank to Karina at Lifting Pins and Needles for recommending this pattern and doing a sew along.

I found this pattern to be a very easy and enjoyable sew, I made the zipper version. The eight gores made it very easy to adjust between sizes. The finished skirt is lovely to wear either dressed up with a smart blouse or jacket, or more relaxed with a tee shirt. I plan to make the skirt in a knit just as soon as I find fabric that I like.

I liked this pattern, it was straightforward and I made it in a wool blend for winter. I wear it often. I made the zipper version and I think I’ll make the buttoned version next.

An easy to sew pattern with panels giving many opportunities for the perfect fit. Options for buttons or a zip means a stylish skirt for all occasions. I made it with a cotton sateen with a tiny bit of stretch. After an epic overlocking session the panels went together very easily. I will also be trying the zip version in a slightly heavier weight to wear with boots in the autumn.

I made this with a linen/cotton blend that had some stretch, so I didn’t use either buttons or a zipper. I also made it maxi length and it falls beautifully.

I got this pattern as soon as I saw it on the website. I really need several basic skirts and prefer A line over pencil or dirndl skirts. Plus, I've always liked button fronts. The other detail that made me want this pattern is that it has 8 gores. I had bariatric surgery about 18 months ago and lost a lot of weight. However, my hips are still quite out of proportion to waist and upper body. It takes quite a bit of altering to get a good fit and the multiple seams make it a lot easier to grade and shape the hip area. This pattern is next in queue to the dress I'm currently working on. The challenge is that I'm deep into prime canning/preserving season where I live and everything else takes a back seat for that, including sewing, for the the next couple weeks yet. Then I'm looking forward to jumping back into sewing and making up this pattern. Will try to remember to post a pic of a finished skirt and an update on the sewing then.
