Featuring: Very fitted through the upper bust, bust, waist and hips, full coverage, one piece swimming suit with a three piece keyhole back. View A offers a plain front in regular bust and Views B and C offer a contoured colorblocked front option that come in regular and full bust option. Contoured front option comes with a plain or ruched tummy panel. All options can be made with a built in shelf bra.

The pattern offers the following options:

View A - A solid front one piece swimming suit (Regular bust only). Fully lined or non lined with added shelf bra and a gusset.

View B - A contoured front one piece swimming suit with a plain tummy panel (Regular and Full bust options)

View C - A contoured front one piece swimming suit with a ruched tummy panel (Regular and Full bust options)

Techniques to master: serging, topstitching, attaching elastic. This pattern is designed to get professionally looking garment using a standard sewing machine.

Swim fabric with at least 50% horizontal and 50% vertical stretch and excellent recovery for the main fabric.

Our patterns come in extensive sizing range and each pattern offers Petite/Short, Regular and Tall options. All options included into the patterns.

We do not offer separate cup sizing for our knit patterns.

Cup sizes for different sizes you can find in the table below. The sizing letters refer to 'sewing cup size' which is measured as a difference between upper and full bust in inches. This cup sizing is different from bra cup sizing. As a general rule our patterns fit well majority of our customers without additional modifications.

fantastic lap swim suit

I am choosy about swimsuits for swimming laps for two reasons. One is that they cannot have wardrobe malfunctions--nothing that slips down or up or comes untied. Nobody wants to flash the old folks in the next lane. The other is that I have extra wide hips and one-pieces never fit me right. The hips are too small even when the chest is right, so they pull up and give me a wedgie and look terrible.

The Indigo is the solution I've been waiting for. The hip is cut pretty low to start with. It has a petite version, so I can make one with straps that don't fall off, plus the strap shape also prevents that. No ties or pleats or cute features that would come apart if you actually swam in the suit. Everything is contained. I have made five and I look forward to never buying another wedgie-making lap swim suit again.

First swimsuit I ever made. I'm a lap swimmer and I'm tall. I've been wearing tankinis because the torso on 1 pieces is always too short. Indigo for the win! Comfy while lap swimming, good coverage. I put power mesh in the bra to keep the girls in place, worked great. I used the tall version, size 8.

Love the Indigo Suit. I used it for my tween granddaughter. She needed at least one suit she could wear for school swimming. The pattern fit so nice and she loves it. When her friend saw it, she said it was “hot” which is really something for a one piece. So flattering!

I had never made a swimsuit before, so I was a little apprehensive. I was concerned mainly about the torso fitting and coverage for my backside! I made the plain version and it fit true to size and had full coverage on my backside! I was so thrilled that I ordered more fabric and made a second one! The instructions are easy to understand and the fit is wonderful! Give it a try!

Fabulous bathing suit

Love the Indigo. Clear instructions, great options. I finally have a well fitted swimsuit. I have an old Singer zigzag machine, and was easily able to sew the swim fabric.
