Zoe relaxed dolman knit top and drawstring dress (PDF)

My daughters and I have used this pattern numerous times. We've changed the neckline slightly for personal comfort. Even though it's a relaxed fit, I've found I still needed to do an FBA using Cashmerette's instructions for a knit garment in order to better fit my shape. On my last version, I used elastic for part of the drawstring. I love the three height options and that the cup size changes as sizes increase. My last version was in double-brushed poly, and I'm on the lookout for similar fabric to make another comfy Zoe!

As with all other Sinclair patterns the petite size 4 fits me straight out of the packet. It is oversized, the instructions do say this though and suggest sizing down if a closer fit is wanted. I made it without the waist…..so hard to find a Sinclair pattern that doesn’t have a waist! …..what I’d give for a simple shift dress in petite……I’ve made 2 Zoe dresses so far, the second a size smaller, am just about to cut my 3rd but as a simple T-shirt top rather than dress. Another good buy that I’ll use over and over again.

I haven't yet made this dress up but instructions look clear and I am looking forward to doing so. Thank you.

I really like it. It's an easy sew and like the relaxed fit. I also made one for my daughter-in-law and she wants more of the tops in different colors as well as wants to try the dress. So, looks like I'll be making several more of the Zoe pattern!

Made Zoe as a tunic out of 95% cotton/5% lycra knit jersey in size 10 tall. Fit is excellent as with all Sinclair patterns I have made. Sinclair pattern tall sizes are a great fit for me and I don't need to make any adjustments. Instructions are detailed and thorough.

Very detailed instructions. My first Sinclair project. Fit is very good. ( Trying to give 5 stars but it’s not clear if I did— because it shows 5 black stars and 1 yellow which is confusing).

The dress is nice when I figured out the size. The size chart is awful, the measurements do not fit the sizing.

I absolutely adore this dress and have made at least 3 in the last couple of months! The short sleeves (without the cuffs) is my fav style. The shape of the top/shoulder/sleeve is terrific, and the waist detail is a fun way to add a contrast fabric. On a couple of the dresses I added stretched clear elastic in the shoulder seam to ruch the shoulder a bit. This pattern is a great way to use a border print, too. I see many more in my future!

I love the easy fit on this dolman pattern. The dress is fast to make and easy to wear. I have also made several dolman sleeve tees using the pattern. You can even leave off the sleeve cuffs for easier layering and it will still look very nice. The fit is more relaxed on Zoe than on the Cachet dolman when using the same size. Both are nice, but this one is my favourite!
