Featuring: Slightly relaxed through the hips and relaxed through the leg, fitted with a contoured flat waistband in the front and elasticated paperbag style waistband on the sides/back straight leg pants and shorts designed for woven fabrics. Pants come in full and ankle lengths. Shorts come in mid-thigh length. Can be finished with a deep side pockets on the front, patch cut out pockets in the back. The waistband is finished with elastic in the back and with optional belt.

The pattern offers the following options:

View A - Full or ankle length pants with side and back pockets, fitted at the waistline with elastic and a belt
View B - Full or ankle length pants with side and back pockets, fitted at the waistline with elastic
View C - Medium length shorts fitted at the waistline with elastic

DIFFICULTY

The pdf pattern is a beginner (2-4/10) level and moderately easy to sew, depending on the options you choose. Takes 1-4 hours to finish (time may vary depending on your chosen options, skills, equipment and supplies).

Our patterns come in extensive sizing range and each pattern offers Petite/Short, Regular and Tall options. All options included into the patterns.

We do not offer separate cup sizing for our knit patterns.

Cup sizes for different sizes you can find in the table below. The sizing letters refer to 'sewing cup size' which is measured as a difference between upper and full bust in inches. This cup sizing is different from bra cup sizing. As a general rule our patterns fit well majority of our customers without additional modifications.

first time of making a pair of paints

This is the first time I made a pair of pants and it worked out really nicely. Great pattern!

Flattering for EVERY Body

I made Monty for myself and loved the look. My body’s somewhere between 2-3 sizes smaller in the waist than hip and they had a lovely fit and drape. While visiting my mother, I convinced her to try my pair on, and she was so surprised they looked equally flattering on her — with a waist equal to our similar hip measurement. Monty is one of those rare patterns that flatters all body shapes no matter our age or stage of life.

Month pants

Always use the tall file and with my usual tweaks the fit was perfect. Instructions clear and easy to follow. Will be making more for sure.

Wonderfully elegant pants, that simply fit!

The Monty pants, is a delightfully easy to follow pattern, and a style of pants that is elegant, yet easy fitting due to the partly elasticated waistband. It can be made in fabric ranging from very summery to winter-y, and the options in the pattern make it a great statement or toned down piece, all depending on your personal preference.
Since making my first pair, it has been my most worn pant to date, and am now making some more winter appropriate ones for the coming season.
As always, Sinclair patterns are true to size, wonderfully drafted fit and a pleasure to sew up with very good comprehensive and clear instructions.

Got them when they came out. Have been working on the Poppy. So far, the Sinclair patterns have been the easiest for me to adapt and have the most interesting details of all the pattern companies I use. Having petite and tall options already done make my life a lot simpler. Thanks!
