Kiki briefs with low, medium and high rise options (PDF)

Featuring:  Fitted at the low/middle waist and hips medium cut briefs. Offered with a low rise and medium or high rise with control waistband. Can be made with a fixed (2 fully enclosed gusset seams) or floating gusset (1 gusset seam in the back). The leg openings have 2 different cut lines for different finishes:  braided or clear elastic, picot elastic, fold-over elastic, stretch lace trim or regular bands. Offers full coverage in the front and in the back. Comfortable control waistband option (for high and medium rise) offers additional support around the abdomen area. Very beginner friendly project with lots of options.

Options for the rise:
Low rise finished with a regular/picot/FOE elastic, stretch lace trim or a regular band.
Medium and high rise finished with a control waistband.

Options for the leg finishes:
* Clear/braided elastic
* Picot elastic (scalloped edge elastic)
* Fold-over elastic (FOE)
* Stretch lace trim
* Regular bands (no additional supplies needed)

Techniques to master: serging, topstitching, attaching FOE, attaching lace trim, attaching picot elastic.

DIFFICULTY

The pdf pattern is a beginner (3/10)  level and moderately easy to sew.
First pair might take 1-2 hours, the following pairs take 15-20 minutes to finish (time may vary depending on your skills, equipment and supplies).

FABRIC

Light to medium weight, knit fabrics with excellent recovery and with at least 30-50% horizontal and 10-20% vertical stretch like Cotton Lycra, Stretch mesh, Nylon Lycra.

45-60" / 115-160 cm  - 0.45 m / 1/2 yards
For high rise control waistband add extra 0.2 m / 1/4 yards

Lining (gusset)

Light to medium weight fabrics like cotton jersey, cotton interlock and other fabrics with natural fibres. The fabric doesn't need to have good recovery. 

Finishes for leg openings / waistline

Clear or braided elastic 3-6 mm / 1/8-1/4 in width or
Picot elastic 5-10 mm / 1/4-3/8 in width or
Fold-over elastic 15 mm / 5/8 in width or
Stretch lace trim 10-15mm / 5/8 in width or
